Hold the PageFriend Officiant Kit
Non-religious ceremony · about 15 to 20 minutes

Your friend asked you to officiate. Here’s the whole ceremony, ready to read.

The Friend Officiant Kit is a complete non-religious wedding ceremony script with stage cues, a one-page run-of-show, fill-in prompts for their story and vows, a rehearsal checklist, and the exact questions to ask the office that issued the marriage license. Made for first-time friend and family officiants.

Is this for you?

It’s for you if…

  • A friend or family member asked you to officiate, and you’ve never done it.
  • The couple wants a non-religious ceremony that’s warm, plain-spoken, and a little funny.
  • You’d rather adapt a finished script than start from a blank page.
  • You have at least a couple of weeks before the date (there’s a two-week fast track).

It’s not for you if…

  • You need a religious ceremony or a specific tradition’s required wording.
  • You want someone to write a personalized ceremony for you. You fill in the story and details yourself.
  • You need legal advice, or a promise that the ceremony will be legally valid. Nobody selling a script can promise that.
  • You need a language other than English, or a printed physical product.

  2. Call the license office with the question sheet, before you write a word.
  3. Interview the couple, then fill in the script’s highlighted blanks.
  4. Rehearse with the checklist, print the large-print copy, and lead the ceremony.

Honest limitations

Try the free edition first

The one-page run-of-show, the rehearsal checklist, and three sample pages of the script (from the worked example) are free. In return, we ask for honest answers to five short questions by October 18, 2026: what you want more of, less of, what was confusing, what was missing, and whether the script sounds like something you’d actually say. No review or testimonial required.

Questions

Will this make the wedding legal?

No product can promise that. Whether a ceremony is legally valid depends on local rules and on following them. The kit tells you to confirm with the office that issued the license and lists what to ask.

Is it religious?

No. The script is non-religious. You can add a religious or cultural element yourself in the editable version.

Can I edit it in Google Docs?

Yes, the editable script is a Word-format (.docx) file. Upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. You can edit it as-is or save a Google Docs copy.

How long is the ceremony?

Planned at about 16:00 without the optional parts and about 19:45 with all of them, at a calm pace. Your version will vary with the length of their story and vows.

Can I use it for more than one wedding?

Yes, for weddings you officiate yourself. Please don’t resell or share the files.

What if it isn’t right for me?

14-day refunds. If the files don’t match the description, won’t open, or you bought by mistake, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
